Launching Products Using Social Media

There are many different ways in launching a product by using the social media. There is Facebook, Websites, Emails and more that can be useful for a product. It can sometimes depend on what kind of product you are promoting when you are going to pick the right kind of social media to use. Here are some of the ways these different techniques are useful and how to launch products on them.

Facebook is one of the fastest and easiest ways to present a product on the web. Creating a Facebook Fan Page is very good at creating building communities and spreading the word. Facebook has capabilities like likes, comments, sharing and uploading pictures and videos. It may not be as flexible as  websites, but it gets the name out fast and it is easy to do. Using these Fan Pages can involve a price.

Websites are a good way to give more detail in a product. It may be take longer than making a Facebook, but there are a lot more possibilities in making a website. Uploading videos and pictures to a website is good for whoever is entering the site. Visuals are good for the consumers eye. It is not good if there is too much writing in the website, the costumer may get bored.

Emails are great because it cuts right to the point. People who check their emails once and then move on. It is a fast and easy way to get your point across about your product. This method may be old or and many people may be ignoring emails, it can still be cheap and effective.

In Response to Nicole Rutigliano: Infomercials

I feel that infomercials can be very catching mostly because of how long they can be and some of the interesting products that are advertised in them. Most of the time I watch an infomercial I think about purchasing the product yet I never do or will do in the future. The is something about them that I don't trust. Why are these products only sold only on infomercials and not in stores? Some of these commercial are just way too long, it is unnecessary. I wonder why people use infomercials over other kinds of commercials.

Gender Discrimination in Advertisement

Recently, there have been more companies discriminating against opposite sexes in advertisements for their products. Companies such as PepsiCo, Dr, Pepper, and Old spice has products advertised for men only. They make it seem like other drinks are not manly enough. I feel like a lot of these products are not meant for just one gender. However, companies are making it seem that way which can be very discriminating. There is a battle of the sexes in the advertisement world recently and it is only getting bigger as more companies get into the mix.
